Red Chili Pepper is an easy one to spot, in terms of what it does in witchcraft spells. Red Pepper heats things up. Because Pepper, Red Chili is fiery and martial, it comes to bear many banishing type of sorcery formula. Curses are a common usage of this saucy little fruit, to be certain. A dose of the hot, red stuff changes anybody’s perspective.

Yes, to explain more clearly, it’s technically a fruit, specifically a member of the Nightshade family.

Using Pepper, Red Chili

However, there is little, if any, sweetness to it. Only Pepper connoisseurs know how to grow Peppers that have an underlying sweetness, beneath all that heat. Most varieties are just plain ol’ HOT… like, H-E-double-toothpicks HOT.

Oddly enough, because it is Elemental Fire, it’s also a good herb for banishing curses. And perhaps odder still, it’s use for some extends to the realm of love spells. The reasoning is that it heats up the passion of the affair. Although, I highly recommend that if you  ever use Red Chili Pepper in a love spell, use only the tiniest pinch.

For clearing up any magickal malefica (curses and the like), sprinkle a mixture of crushed Red Pepper, Agrimony and Basil around the home. Pray the 51st Psalm as you do it (or a proper prayer of protection, from within your own faith, tradition).
