This is a high quality, fine grade of Valerian. Unlike the quality that is usually available on the market, this stuff smells like candy. There’s no bad taste to it, unless you just don’t care for it, anyway.
As a guitarist, a few gigs I played at a place called Wormwoods (not around anymore, unfortunately). It was an absinthe bar.
The owner liked me and let me have a shot of the top shelf stuff and one of the bottom shelf stuff. I thought “Wow, it’s candy versus… dirt” a night and day difference.
Valerian, it seems, is just like that… good… or dirt. Of course, absinthe tastes like licorice. So if you don’t like licorice, you won’t like the top shelf licorice, either.
Uses of Valerian
Valerian Root is a natural anti-anxiety agent. Please consult your physician before using it in that way.
I don’t know what the dosage levels of overdose are, I’m not a doctor. I’m a Root Doctor… it’s fairly differnt. [intentional misspelling, y’all] They sell it in pharmacies, over the counter. They measure it out in careful doses. You should too… after you talk to your doctor… um, physician.
Magickally, go right ahead and use it for spells involving sleep, purifications, as well as lust potions.
Don’t go right ahead and use it for curses but many of you will, anyway. When the other person sends it back to you, ten times stronger, call me. We’ll get you straight and I’ll tell you to knock that silliness off.
Hues of the Scorpion
Mercury passing through Scorpio lends a dark and mysterious vibe, suitable for secrets, science and insane paranoia. Lean toward the former two, avoiding the latter.
This root is one that really speaks to me, personally. I’m big on herbs, roots, etc and I “talk” to them and they, to me. Some don’t say much and a scant few won’t work for me at all.
Some of them, I am able to put to work for all sorts of tasks, even those outside their usual job descriptions. Valerian is such a Spirit.
I believe Valerian Root possesses a strong overlap with Saturn, Jupiter, Luna and Mars, as well. There seems very little of Venus or Sol in there, though, if any.
I find it useful for binding, for quieting down trouble and again, secrets, keeping things hidden. It may disappoint you to know that my experiments are not as nefarious as it sounds. Sorry.
