When you sign up for a college class, they make you buy books. This is just like that. To see the required supply list, go to this link, here:

Be In Charge of Yourself
Many exercises are included in the material that will help you gain control over your mind, body, thoughts, habits, feelings and emotions. Learn how to manipulate your breathing and improve your diet and general health. There is a recommended reading list, lots of ritual work that is explained in step-by-step fashion, with complete explanations of what each ritual is for. No previous experience is necessary. You need only a fervent desire to learn. You’re going to work at this but then, nothing worth actually doing is easy, is it?
This course is about “white” and “gray” magick and I’m not a fan of malefic work, except under imminent threat of danger. There is a lot of protection magick in the lessons but nothing like what most people think of as “curses”. Defense is intelligent and encouraged, while attacking for the sake of attacking is immature, at best.
Study, do the homework, perform the private ritual work and ask questions on the secret Facebook group. The lessons are full of useful study guides and diagrams and those who succeed are those who get started.
The Nascent Magician course is very eclectic and you learn the basic principles that apply to all magick. Various magickal systems and traditions are taught with emphasis on Ceremonial, Pagan and Hoodoo tradition. The Nascent Magician is not for everyone and it’s a LOT of work.
What the Course is NOT
- a Wicca course
- OTO or Thelema study
- Golden Dawn
- Voodoo or Santeria initiation
- a Chaos Magick program
- a step-by-step for any particular grimoire
Those are all great systems, just not what I’m teaching.
In The Nascent Magician, you’ll learn a mix of Ceremonial, Pagan and Hoodoo, along with a selection of various, other sorcerous arts.
Spice of Life
There are pure Hoodoo techniques taught here. Learn authentic Golden Dawn rituals and you learn witchcraft spells suitable for any Wiccan coven.
You learn techniques of Voodoo, Palo and Santeria but it’s not an African Traditional Religions. You learn spells utilizing scriptures but you don’t need to be Christian, Jewish or anything else.
There are concepts taught here for conjuring chthonic entities but there’s nothing you must use, in case that is too “dark” for you. One might study French, yet never travel to Paris or drink French wine. Receive a variety of instruction and you will have a well-rounded education.
I teach the basics that you’ll need before you go on, to another, very specific system, like working through a particular grimoire or initiating into a coven or joining an OTO or Golden Dawn Order. I do teach some of the most popular rituals, traditions, spells, etc. However, these are never presented as being the only way. The NM course will provide you enough of the basic, ground work to be able to move into most other systems and understand what is going on there.
Be Yourself
You can be of any religion and do this course. However, you cannot harbor any serious resentments against any religion. In the NM course, we use symbolism that is Pagan, Christian, Jewish and anything else, so long as it works. I have zero tolerance for bashing of anyone. Talk trash about any other religion or magickal system and you will be warned. Keep it up and you’ll be expelled.
Emphasis
This course is heaviest on Ceremonial magick and it has lots of Hoodoo and Pagan style spellcraft. The old grimoires are the basis of Ceremonial Magick they constitute what we refer to as Solomonic practice. The Golden Dawn stems from these and Wicca springs from the Golden Dawn. Hoodoo is a blend of many different systems and combines grimoire spells with African traditions.
Hoodoo is a strange mongrel of concepts and it was Born and blended in the American South. The practices come from Voodoo, the Pow Wow of the Pennsylvania Dutch, Catholicism, Santeria, European and Celtic witchcraft. High or Ceremonial Magick finds a home here, too and Hoodoo frequently uses seals from the European grimoires.
There are two kinds of students:
1) Survey Students
2) Graduate Students
The Survey Student package gets you the 12 lessons and you learn at your own pace.
The price for the Survey Student package is $160.
Marks of Distinction
Desiring to have some sort of viable proof that they have undertaken the work involved, many students will seek after the diploma offered upon graduation. This is perfectly natural and healthy.
A certificate assists you to prove a level of competency and it shows you have completed the regimen of practice. This is useful for those who provide services to others and as a feather in the cap for occult authors. Professional spell workers always need more credentials and these certificates inspire confidence in your clients about your competence level.
If you opt out of the homework tests, you are a Survey Student. Just like surveying a college course, you take the class but get no official credit. Nobody asks you for homework and it doesn’t count toward your GPA. The tests don’t matter and you are ineligible for graduation.

Course Supplies
Course Requirements
- Must be 18… or have written and verbal permission from your parents
- You need at least one hour per day to practice and study
- Space to do your ritual work and meditation
- A small amount of disposable income, to purchase the lessons, your materials, the candles, incense, oils, powders, herbs and other things you’ll need for your work
If you can’t put in at least 30 minutes, then try to free up your schedule first and come back to this. It’s entirely self-paced, just know that it’s going to take some time.
Space & Time
You do not need permanent, dedicated space, just to be able to set up an altar, burn candles and incense. You want your ritual work to be undisturbed.
The space doesn’t need to be large, just private. Even a 4ft x 4ft area is fine. You only need short periods, like ten minutes or an hour, possibly two hours at a time and you can break most of it up, too.
I had a person ask me if someone in prison could do the course. I had to answer no, at least not all of it. They could however, do portions of the work.
Many of the rituals can be done astrally or mentally. Those would be immensely useful to a prisoner. Still, a prison won’t allow you to burn candles or incense, so they’d be limited to the theory, studies and some of the ritual work.
School Supplies
It won’t break the bank but you will need to allot some funds (roughly $150-250) for your training, since there will be things you need to execute the work. For Graduate Students, this is required. For Survey Students, it is merely recommended.
If you were in college, you’d spend hundreds of dollars on textbooks, each semester. For conjure school, you’re going to spend maybe $10-30 per lesson on various oils, incenses and the like.
The lessons are emailed to you as .pdf files. You’ll use Adobe Reader to open .pdf files. Adobe Reader is free and easy to download. Get it here: Adobe Reader
