Mars Oil – a formula of five herbs and essential oils, corresponding to the Planet Mars.
Pepper, Basil and other Mars herbs are blended together to harness the powers of Mars.
The Scent of War
Mars is the Planet associated with Ares, the God of War. The name of the Roman, War God is Mars and Ares is His Greek counterpart.
Mars rules over the zodiacal Signs of Aries and Scorpio. This is the Lord of warfare, rage, destruction, and primal, sexual instinct.
Mars invokes willpower, passion, and He evokes even the most lascivious lusts. He presides over sex, death and competition in general, as in competitive sports.
Want that rare? Or really bloody?
Mars‘s interests and expertise are essentially the severing of things, whether with surgeon’s scalpel or bastard sword. The removal of a tumor is the same to Him as the act of beheading someone in battle.
He’s equally happy in the metaphorical act of cutting someone or something out of your life. He is often instrumental in breaking unhealthy habits or breaking away from a toxic person.
Be forewarned… arguments are usually inherent and power struggles often unfold.
Mars in the Qabalah
The Qabalistic number of Mars (and its sephirah, Geburah) is five and so, this Mars Oil has five ingredients.
Mars sits in the Sephirah of Geburah, on the Tree of Life and His color is red. The Divine Name is ELOHIM GIBOR and the meaning is “God of Battles”. Another name of Geburah is Pachad, meaning fear.
The Archangel is Samael and you invoke him before calling the Intelligence, Graphiel. The Spirit is Bartzabel and you call him last. The hierarchy is important and you don’t want to mix it up. But you can stick with just the Divine Name and the Archangel or work with Mars, only.
Lord of Flame
Because of the fiery nature of Mars, Mars blends usually give a potent aroma; they often make the eyes water.
My Conjure Work formula strives for a more pleasing smell, without compromising any magickal properties. Everything in this blend is strongly related to Mars and He loves it in offerings.
Recipe for Destruction
I chose only ingredients which are Mars-friendly AND smell good. There are actually dozens of useful, Mars-related herbs to choose from.
Instead of focussing on only one or two traditional choices, I broaden the horizons a bit. Mars is a fan of ripping up the rule book and He’s no stranger to guerrilla tactics.
The overall bouquet of this blend is brisk and manly, a scent befitting a warlord. It possesses a sultry, seductive aroma, worthy of the Lord of Lust.
This general-purpose oil is perfect for any type of Mars invocation and for daily offerings. Slather up five, red candles and offer them to the War God. Ask Him to give you the strength to go the distance… or at least to the grocery store. That fridge is looking sort of barren.
