Description
La Santisima Muerte Candle
Candles, working lights, for petitioning La Flaquita, “The Skinny Girl”. La Santisima Muerte means The Most Holy Death. She is perhaps most frequently referred to as Santa Muerte.
Most Holy Death
The cult of La Santa is vast and some say Her following is growing faster than any other Spirit today. This folk Saint is especially huge in Central and South America.
This Spirit is literally Death and not merely some representation of it. Therefore, tread lightly and utilize the utmost respect and deference of Her.
Santa Muerte is usually split up into seven, widely accepted colors or aspects. These partitions of color represent Her different abilities and roles. However, there are several other colors in common use.
The Many Colors of Death
Virtually any type of work is accomplished with these, due to the wide array of colors. As a practicing sorcerer, you’ll have a wide variety of spells to cast. Naturally, this means that you’re going to need a wide variety of colors. Choose your color in the drop down menu.
White – blessings, wisdom, peace of mind and health
Black – matters of protection (physical and magickal), shielding from harm and hiding something, keeping secrets, also vengeance and curses.
Gold – any issues of money, employment, material possessions, etc
Red – matters of the heart, love, romance and raw, sexual lust
Green – Justice, fairness, legal matters, court hearings, legal disputes, law enforcement, judges, good luck, money, favors, selling a home or a piece of property, any type of seemingly lost cause
Amber – to overcome addictions, rehabilitation from drug addiction/alcoholism
Yellow – small challenges, intelligence, success, wisdom
Blue – learning, study, wisdom, health
Brown – working with ancestors and the dead, in general (in Hoodoo, brown is for legal, court matters, while green is for money), also for problems that are “mid-level”… beyond yellow, not quite green
Purple – power, authority, healing
Orange – job success and satisfaction, securing work, control of one’s superiors.
Silver – gambling
Copper – gambling
Money patterns – sometimes the statues or candles are covered with images of currency bills These are obviously for money, wealth
Rainbow – Also obvious… these cover all the areas, at least in so far as each color is present
Mi Nina Blanca
Her names are many, because She appears to people in visions, usually as a white skeleton in a dress. Those who catch sight of Her give Her such appellations as:
- The White Lady (La Senora Blanca)
- The White Girl (La Niña Blanca)
- My White Sister (Mi Hermana Blanca)
- Señora de las Sombras (Lady of the Shadows)
- La Madrina (the Godmother)
- La Flaquita (the Skinny Girl)
Custom Spell Intention
Additionally, if you have a particular prayer, hymn, spell, etc, that you want on it, put this in the additional information section.
The custom text is optional but if you want it, it will be on the back side of the candle. If you choose to forego the custom text, you’ll still get a prayer on the back. The nature of the standard prayer relates to the color of the candle and the general type of intentions relating to that color.
Obviously, these candles are great for special occasion offerings. But, they are wonderful, everyday offerings, as well. They function magnificently as the Fire portion of your spells and brujeria (witchcraft).
Important Note:
Any additional text MUST be brief enough to fit on the label! If it’s too long, I will leave it off and you will just print or write that out yourself. Put it under your candle or tape it to the side.
For those who want a fixed candle, I do that too!
I‘ll dress the candle with La Santisima Muerte Oil. As a clarification, the particular oil I use to dress it will depend on the color of your candle. Additionally, I will fix it with some La Santisima Muerte Incense.
Or, tell me the spell purpose and I will put in some very specific ingredients, to push it in that direction.
As an explanation, there’s an article, How To Use 7 Day Candles, on the Free Magick Lessons page.
Only The Finest
Conjure Work brand candles… for all your sorcery, witchcraft spells.
Any herbs, roots, resins I use in dressing candles are either organic or wild-harvest.
Use a La Santisima Muerte Candle as part of your regular offerings, on Her altar. Use one as the focus point of any spell you work with La Santisima Muerte.
Size: the actual height and width of glass, novena candles varies some. I get them from different manufacturers and therefore, size and burn time is different, between manufacturers.
After Use
Either recycle the glass or use candle refills in it. Keep it as a flower vase (get all the wax out first, with very hot water, almost but not quite boiling). You can put offerings in it or dirt from your property or graveyard dirt of your ancestors, the possibilities abound.
