Cross Candles – Hoodoo style, ritual candles for spells. Suitable for both Christian sorcery and Pagan Witchcraft, since the Cross is a timeless symbol that predates Christianity and is sacred to a great many mythologies, worldwide.
The exact shape and dimensions of these vary, since I get them from different suppliers, at different times. They’re basically 4-5 inches tall, 1 inch thick and 2-4 inches wide.
An outstanding way to dress up any spell for blessing work, exorcism, purification, dedication or consecration of ritual tools. Ideally suited to Solomonic practitioners and Christian sorcerers. Yet, it’s still easily adaptable to fit any Pagan ritual, when you view the Cross through the widest lens, recalling that it is a universal symbol of protection. The Celtic Cross is an example of where Christianity and older, Pagan beliefs overlap.
The Cross stands as a potent image in the minds of millions of people and as a result, even non-Christians may utilize it in times of need. Personally, I’m a practical sorcerer and as such, I like to use whatever works. I use pentagrams when pentagrams do the trick. The hexagram is what I use when the hexagram is what will make it happen. If the Calvary Cross is gonna make the thing go, then the Calvary Cross is what I use. Whatever will push it over the edge of the finish line is the way to go.
For Hoodoo, southern style conjure, it’s a very common practice to have two, altar candles going. These go on the far end of the altar, one on the right and one on the left. These cross candles do the job nicely, especially when you dress them with Blessing Oil. If you’re doing some other type of work, there’s lots of choices available in the Oils section. For example, in a money-drawing ritual, use New Money Oil. Try topping it off by burning some Wealth of Kings or New Money Incense!
